Governor of the Chelyabinsk region
Boris Aleksandrovich was born on the 22 of November, 1958 in Magnitogorsk city, the Chelyabinsk region.
In 1990 he graduated from the Magnitogorsk mining and metallurgical Institute n.a. GI Nosov by occupation "Metal forming"; in 2001 - The Russian Presidential Academy of National economy and public administration by occupation "Businesses and organizations management".
He began his career in 1976 at the "Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works" (MISW) as a pupil of first category inspector in technical control department. After military service he returned to the MISW, where he had the career path from the post of metallurgical machinery repairman to the CEO, chairman of the Board of the "Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works",OJSC.
On the 15 of January, 2014 he was appointed to acting Governor of the Chelyabinsk region by the Decree of the President of Russia.
On the 14 of September, 2014 was elected Governor of the Chelyabinsk region.
Married, has daughter and son.
The Chelyabinsk region ranks second in industrial output after only the Sverdlovsk region in the Urals. The volume of self-produced shipped goods, works and services in manufacturing industry was 272.3 billion rubles in 2008.
The advantageous economical, geographical and strategic position of the region in combination with historically powerful production potential and qualified personnel availability conduced creation of such industry complexes as metallurgical, machine building (engineering), metalworking, fuel-power and construction in the region.
The main activities of the Chelyabinsk region Government for 2011-2015 years are realized regarding effective implementation of the Strategy for social and economic development of the Chelyabinsk region till 2020.
There are 55 interregional agreements for cooperation in trade and economic, scientific and technical, social and cultural sectors as well as 4 protocols (plan of actions) for implementation of cooperation agreements.

The Fitch Ratings Agency reconfirmed the Chelyabinsk region long-term rating in foreign and national currency at the "ВВВ-" level, national long-term rating at the "AA+ (Rus)" level, short-term rating in foreign currency at the level of "F3".
The Chelyabinsk region was included into the second group "Regions with favorable conditions for business" among five existing groups of the National Rating of the Investment Climate in the Russian Federation territorial entities.

The annual average number of economically active population was 1 861,8 thousand people in 2014, including 1 745,0 thousand people (or 93,7%) who were engaged in sector of economy and 116,8 thousand of unemployed persons (6,3%) who looked for work actively.
The number of the registered unemployed was 27,5 thousand people at the date of 01.01.2014; the unemployment rate has increased from 1,4% to 1,5% during the year.
The second Russia-Italia cooperation business forum has opened in the capital of the South Ural. The Governor of the Chelyabinsk region Boris Dubrovsky held the working meeting with Italian diplomatic representatives as a part of activity program.
